Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Albion Conferences follows the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This statement outlines the responsibilities of authors, reviewers, and editors, and the procedures followed in cases of suspected misconduct.

Duties of authors

Submit only original work; all sources must be properly cited.
Disclose all funding sources and conflicts of interest.
Ensure that all listed authors have made a substantive contribution to the work and have approved the final manuscript; authorship criteria follow standard scholarly norms of intellectual contribution, drafting or critical revision, and accountability for the content.
Report any errors discovered after publication promptly to the editorial office.

Duties of reviewers

Evaluate manuscripts objectively and treat all submissions as confidential.
Declare any conflict of interest and decline to review where one exists.
Alert editors to substantial similarity between the manuscript and other published work.

Duties of editors

Make publication decisions based solely on the manuscript's academic merit.
Maintain the confidentiality of submitted work during review.
Act on allegations of misconduct in line with COPE guidance.

Plagiarism screening and misconduct

All submissions are screened for textual overlap prior to peer review. Suspected plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate submission, or undisclosed conflicts of interest are investigated by the editorial office, which may request clarification from authors, involve the authors' institution, or reject the manuscript.

Corrections and retractions

Where errors are identified after publication, the editorial office issues a correction or, in cases of serious ethical breach, a formal retraction, in accordance with COPE recommendations. Both are linked to the original published record.
